Three years ago we purchased and donated a mobility basket to Project Uplift USA for which we were listed as a sponsor of the WRAL Freedom Balloon Festival for 3 years. This is the last of those 3 years.
This year we are doing something different which I hope sparks a long term partnership with the festival. We will be working with the hot air balloon that is attached to the mobility basket. There will be opportunities to talk about the Jaycees, sell raffle tickets for our raffle benefiting Project Uplift, and if our slots fill up you may be dispersed to a different job at the festival.
You will create a profile and from there you can sign up for slots. You will see that there is a designated slot for the Raleigh Jaycees. Please select those shifts. You will be required to attend a volunteer orientation. I have put the information I was given below.
Orientations – We have four upcoming orientations currently scheduled and we would like for all volunteers to attend ONE of these events so you will have the most updated and relevant information for the festival. Please choose the one that is best for your schedule. At these orientations, we will cover everything from safety, parking, the initlive system, and actually putting up a balloon for you to experience up close (weather permitting), so it is imperative that everyone attends. We will also have computers available for new volunteers to register through InItLive.
