Religious Exploration Series – Part III: Islam

You’re invited to join fellow Jaycees to learn about a variety of religious faiths and practices through our Religious Exploration series.  This series is designed to allow members and guests to explore different faiths in an effort to better understand the world around us, dispel myths, and hopefully learn how much we have in common despite perceived differences.

Part III: Islam

We’ll gather at the Islamic Association of Raleigh and meet with Mr. Fiaz Fareed. He will cover the basics of Islam, how Muslims view a variety of topics including science, common misconceptions in the US about Muslims and the role of Muslim women, as well as any questions that you may have.  He will also compare Islam to other faiths, including the relationship to Judeo-Christian history (you may be surprised!). We will also have the opportunity to observe a brief prayer session at 7:30 if you can stay for that portion, followed by a final Q&A session.
