Wednesday May 19th (6 PM – 8 PM) we will be volunteering at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC for the 1st time since the Fall of 2019!
There are a limited number of spots due to Covid so I have reserved spots through Activate Good. At the bottom of this email are quite lengthy instructions from Activate Good. I have signed up with both Activate Good and the Food Bank and the instructions look scarier than they actually are!
If you see that you are unable to sign up because all spots are filled, please let me know and I will check to see if there are any more available spots!
Please let me know if you have any questions! I hope to see many of you there!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SIGNING UP TO VOLUNTEER AT THE FOOD BANK VIA ACTIVATE GOOD:

1) Click the unique, exclusive “Project Invitation Link” for your new group page and adopted shift:

2) You will be prompted to either A) create an Activate Good volunteer account or B) log in to your existing Activate Good volunteer account.

3) Once signed in, you will automatically be redirected to confirm your sign up for our group’s project. Be sure that you have joined the group AND the project.

4) You’re done! You can view your current volunteer sign ups at any time under the “My Volunteering -> My Opportunities” page found at the top of the webpage.

***In addition to signing up via Activate Good’s website, all volunteers must register for their respective shift via the Food Bank’s new site via this link prior to arrival.  Simply hit the green “Sign Up” button beside the exact shift you’re signing up for with ACTIVATE GOOD, and follow the prompts to either login, or create an account.   https://www.cervistech.com/acts/console.php?console_id=0225&console_type=event_list&event_id=21&ht=1&res_code=ActivateGoodRal
A few important notes (please review prior to arrival and sign up via the Food Bank’s new system):
*All volunteers must be feeling well and be between the ages of 18-60 years old.
*All volunteers must wear closed toe shoes. If you have a mask, gloves, other protective gear, please wear that, too.
**Please review**
Regarding COVID-19 and volunteering at the Food Bank CENC
Current volunteer sessions are being capped at smaller numbers and volunteers are spread out at those stations. This is to best accommodate social distancing while still packing vital food resources, in accordance with guidelines around large groups. The Food Bank is also limiting volunteering to ages 18-60 at this time, to best protect vulnerable populations.
There is personal protection equipment available at the Food Bank, however if you have these on hand and can bring them, it would allow the FoodBank to conserve those resources. All volunteers must wear gloves. All surfaces are wiped down and sanitized before and after each volunteer session with wipes that contain at least 60% alcohol. The Food Bank has hired additional housekeeping staff to make this possible and has removed focal points like iPad sign in and the name tag station.
All volunteers must wash their hands upon entering the Food Bank, before starting a project.
If you are feeling sick, or displaying any symptoms of illness, please stay home.
Regarding Parking/Check-In:
Please park near the marked Volunteer Entrance located at the northern side of the building (the left hand side when facing the building). If you can see the “Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina” lettering when you are entering, you are on the wrong side of the building.  Check-in inside the Food Bank at the desk.
