You’re invited to join fellow Jaycees to learn about a variety of religious faiths and practices through our Religious Exploration series. This series is designed to allow members and guests to explore different faiths in an effort to better understand the world around us, dispel myths, and hopefully learn how much we have in common despite perceived differences.

Part I: Buddhism
We’ll meet at the Kadampa Center for the practice of Buddhism located near the State Fairgrounds. Our speaker will provide a summary of Buddhist beliefs, explain who “the Buddha” is, and introduce important Buddhist concepts such as the 4 Noble Truths, Precious Human Life, Samsara and Nirvana. She will also compare and contrast basic Buddhist beliefs with Christianity. There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions.
