NC Wine Fest 1

Come help us raise money for GoodFellows and HOBY by volunteering at the NC Wine Festival! We will be partnering with Curtis Media Group to help put on the first version of this event taking place in Raleigh. There will be two shifts: the first from 9 am to 2:15 pm, the second from 1:45 pm to 7 pm. We’ll need 15 people per shift, so please- sign up on our Volunteer Spot page! Bring your friends! As an added incentive, Curtis Media Group will provide lunch, snacks, and drinks (non-alcoholic; sorry folks!).

As for our actual tasks, the Jaycees would serve in two locations: distributing ice to vineyard tents, and by supporting the “Wine Shop” tent – where we label and distribute the bottles of wine bought for the attendees.  We will NOT help in pouring any of the wine.

Day-of event details:

On the day of the festival, volunteers will enter in main gate. The volunteer building is in the old Zydeco building, located right beside the main gate (see map!).  There will be extra volunteer shirts in there for everyone.

Volunteers can enjoy the festival before their afternoon shift or after their morning shift.  If you want to sample wines, you will need photo id to get a drinking wristband.  Subway subs will be delivered around 1 pm for all staff and volunteers working that day.  Unfortunately there is no dinner… we’ll be eating late that day!  But there are lots of food vendors around if people get hungry.  There will be coolers of water and snacks in the volunteer room.

Parking:

Complimentary parking is available in the City Market Parking Lot on Person Street (there are only 20 spaces here, so these will fill up quickly as it’s the closest lot).

There is additional complimentary parking for our vendors (including volunteers!) in the Bloodworth Parking lot (there are 130 spaces here – ample room for all vendors & volunteers).

Also noted are public parking decks on Wilmington Street and Blount Street.  There are also spots all along the side streets that are available if preferred, but these will require a daily fee.

So what are you waiting for? Help us raise money for two of our largest projects. Sign up today!
