Meeting Minutes

Board Members in attendance:

Meeting called to order by Ali Houchin.

Pledge of Allegiance

CPGs

· Final/Continue CPG for Leadership Seminars by Peter Ansbacher (Presented by Kris Montgomery)

· Motion made by Kris Montgomery to approve the final amount from the first seminar with a return appropriation of $654.83 and to ask for a new appropriation of $1,700 for the next seminar from the Chapter.

· Motion seconded by Beth Barlow.

· Discussion: Had some good feedback from the first seminar – lower ticket sales cost, fun venue, mixed feedback on the speaker; would prefer someone more dynamic. Looking to do one more seminar this year in September. Really focus more time in marketing this next event. The return of appropriation was made from the first event so this would be an additional appropriation. Thinking of doing local CEOs from companies roundtable or other ideas. Know that Kevin Snyder is an option for speaker, Cary did put aside $5,000 for these seminars.

· Nomination for Project Chair of the Month and Jaycee of the Month

Area Updates

Ways & Means Area Update with Heather Snyder

· PONY – Still working on getting the main contract signed with all partners; hold up is in Garner; team count around 165; committee meeting last night; everything moving forward with the areas; PONY is still waiting for this contract to be signed before moving forward with the three year contract; make sure you sign up for PONY shifts

· Turkey Shoot – looking for project chair, no one has expressed interest yet, members from the round table wanted to continue this project but no one has stepped up yet. Andy and Chip are meeting with Perry’s Guns to discuss ammunition with them.

· Halloween Festival – Ashley Nemeth is interested in doing a weekend event and we should see a CPG in July

Business Area Update with Kris Montgomery and Heather Snyder

· GMMs – going well having the social GMMs and Marriott. Ali asked to check on the meeting space with the Marriott; will be back at Blinco’s for Social GMM in July

· Planning of Board retreat – looking for locations. More information will come out about this soon.

· Red, White, and Blue Picnic and 80^th Anniversary celebration coming up on July 7^th; will be having BBQ

· Hope to have CPG from Jeff Mills on Tubing trip

· Recruiting chairs for the blackout party and installation banquet

· Still working on RFP for website

· Camping trip wrapping up and should have CPG next month

Membership Area Update with Liz Gallops

· Ali read the email from Liz for her report

· We are holding at 98 for the year – net neutral. We were down two but just had two people join. We don’t have any events planned for the next month. Liz will be mass emailing all of our guests from Goodfellows, Beer & Wine Tasting, and HOBY to ask them to volunteer for a PONY shift.

Individual Development Area Update with Kris Montgomery

· Volleyball – have 2 teams this year

· Parents Night out – going well, thanks for watching the kids; getting with Ed for the next event

· Theater club going on, low attendance but still have high hopes; cheap entertainment; next one is on Thursday in July and then another event in September

· Just passed the Leadership seminar

· Jaycall is coming out next one out in August

· Working on brewery tour CPG project

State Director Area Update with Ali Houchin

· Will be promoting State Competitions; will have run-offs if more people interested

· Cindy will be State director after this meeting

· Mid-Year convention the first weekend of PONY; To be held in Gastonia this year; not looking for a large attendance to go; do still have subsidies; they will be having meetings at this one

· CPG Book assembly night on July 2^nd; final CPGs for first semester to go to State; encourage project chairs to come to assembly night

· Award nominations due; also asking for assistance with Parade of Chapters

Community Service Area Update with Mona Shah

· Pop Tabs and Clip & Save projects going well

· Blood drive going strong except that we need to change the date for next one due to so many failing the last time

· Looking at food drive options; someone to do public servant event;

· Will do another Adopt-a-Highway event

Community Fundraising Area Update with Jamilyn Cole

No Report in Chapter

Treasurer Area Update with Katie Johnson

· Katie sent out the profit and loss budget report; any questions on it see Katie

· Katie Johnson motioned to approve the profit and loss statement from May. Motion seconded by Andy Zeh. No discussion. Motion passed.

Legal Counsel Area Update with Ashley McDuffie

No report.

Secretary Area Update with Kris Montgomery and Heather Snyder

· Kris Montgomery motioned to approve the meeting minutes from May. Motion seconded by Beth Barlow. No discussion. Motion passed.

New Business

v Elections

· Andy Zeh motioned to approve Cindy Honickman as State Director. Motion seconded by Kris Montgomery. Motion passed.

· Andy Zeh motioned to approve Jessica Seracino as Director at large. Beth Barlow seconded the motion. Motion passed.

· Welcome to the board. Swearing in of new board members.

v Executive Session

· Motion made by Kris Montgomery to move into executive session. Motion seconded by Beth Barlow. Motion passed.

· Motion to adjourn executive session. Motion passed.

Old Business

· Retreat reminder of date and time – will have some finalized plans within the next few days

· Publicity committee – suggest that we discuss this at the retreat.
