Raleigh Jaycees Board Meeting – CIF                                                             February 24, 2009

Members Present: Neph Bailey, Karen Shellhorn, Allison Anderson, Linnell Compton, Teresa Nichols, Mona Shah, Carter Pettibone, Deidre Albert, Jennifer James, Lisa Rowland, Ali Houchin, Paul Hoover, Michael McKnight, Shira Easley, John Sauter, Mel Taylor, Andy Zeh, Amanda Carleski,  Danny Miller, Khaner Walker, Karen Sadler, and Liz Gutierrez.

Call to Order by Carter Pettibone. Pledge of Allegiance by Paul Hoover.

HOBY Yard Sale Initial CPG – Presented by Project Chair Sasha Fradin. Lisa Rowland made motion to approve with $200 appropriation, seconded by Linnell Compton. Comments by Lisa Rowland; Thanks so much for doing this, nice to be taking a new member under wing, Linnell greatly appreciates constructive criticism. Motion passed.

Area Updates:

Community Service Area Update (Allison Anderson) – nothing to report.

HOBY Update (Ed Blackman) – Kickoff March 17th GMM, no skit. Major items; still talking to NC State, major obstacle, student group has hold on Stewart Theater. Doing everything we can to move seminar off-site. Finding out what student group is. Trying to see group who rent out space will accept a donation to let us have space. Teresa mentions that a church group reserved space 2 years ago, she will give contact info. Regarding fundraising we have begun receiving revenue checks. More ambassadors registering. We got a donation from iContact. We have more than enough junior staff applicants. Last thing we have now met our revenue share goal, we will receive 100% of incentive; we met goal a month into deadline of 215. Stacy is watching numbers to be at 222. Alison asks if he wants to speak to HOBY Advisory Committee. We will wait until next month.

Community Fundraising (Linnell Compton): Beer and Wine Final CPG March, Super bowl Party Final CPG– March, made over $75 over goal. Potential chair for Bowl a thon as new member project. Any ideas on who would like to chair. See Linnell or Lisa. Staying In – Adam Enerson will be hosting Staying In at his house which will be in preparation for the Gala. Potential chili cook-off chair, Gala is month away, 5 weeks, encourage everyone to buy tickets $35, incentive that Teresa has means ticket can be free or really cheap if you invite people to attend. $5 off per guest, $40 for non- Jaycee. Everything else is moving right along.

Communications Update (Khaner Walker) – Press release for Gala; Will be working on HOBY press items today.

CIF Treasurer Update (Deidre Albert) – nothing to report

Legal Council (Michael McKnight) – Nothing to report

Secretary Update (Amanda Carleski) – made motion to approve January meeting minutes, seconded by Teresa Nichols. Motion passed.
