Mid Year Chapter Plan Report – Peter Ansbacher

·          Set goals in the beginning of the year for success – time to start fresh and make things better as a board and as a chapter.

·          Changes in Directors – Jill Beck will change to Community Fundraising; Laura Littleton will change to Individual Development; and Katie Hendrix will change to Membership.

·          Find Your Passion and Make it Happen is this year’s motto. The Chapter Plan developed at the beginning of the year was gone over. The chapter plan has 7 main objectives

o         Increase membership base by 7%

o         Strengthen chapter budget with new projects – operating expenses

o         Raise $63,000 operating budget

o         Raise $74,000 for charities

o         Better relationship with Chamber of Commerce and Raleigh Jaycees

o         Establish online payment for chapter dues and projects

o         Have 20 members chair their first project

·          Strengths and Weaknesses of the chapter that we see at this point were discussed.

Strengths:

Passion and enthusiasm of members

Maintain momentum in key large projects

Getting new members involved in running projects

Making guests feel welcome

Good board

Communicating well

Publicity

Weaknesses:

Recruiting members and chairs

Need more extroverts

Training

Leadership training

New projects

Manpower at large projects

Members excited about new projects

Well rounded programming

Variety of projects

Enthusiasm at meetings

Business development

Mixed feelings of number of projects ran 52 projects ran so far this year

Feedback on Strengths/Weaknesses:

Introverted culture – emails more popular than phone calls; leadership is more introverted; members not bringing guests to meetings

Well rounded program – that’s what makes us stand out; 31 new members so far this year; different types of organizations;

What sets us apart from the different organizations; sell the leadership – church groups, sports, social groups

Sell everything that we are – leadership, social, community service

Well rounded programming – need to have consistent

Focus on what we are and then market it out

Find someone to do the projects that we want – find the replacement

Sell the opportunity to do projects

Personal approach is wonderful; focus on the impact; be excited about the project/interest to chair projects
