Project Presented: Raleigh Jaycees Website (Initial)

Chair: Mike Zimmerman

Jeff Gordon moved to accept the CPG as written with a $281.95 appropriation..

Christine Bauer seconded the motion.

Motion to accept the CPG passed.

 

Project Presented: Carb Confusion (Initial)

Chair: Jennifer Prish

Peter Ansbacher moved to accept the CPG as written with a $50.00 appropriation..

Dupre Jones seconded the motion.

Motion to accept the CPG passed.

 

Project Presented: Networking Seminar (Initial)

Chris Compton moved to accept the CPG with a $30.00 appropriation from the chapter.

Christine Bauer seconded the motion.

Project Presented: Youssou N’Dour Concert and Picnic (Final)

Christine Bauer moved to accept the CPG as written with a $16.25 return to the chapter.

Melissa Taylor seconded the motion.

Motion to accept the CPG passed.

 

Project Presented: Contract and Negotiation Training (Initial)

Chair: Jeff Gordon

Chris Compton moved to accept the CPG with a $20.00 appropriation.

Tina Gordon seconded the motion.

Motion to accept the CPG passed.

 

Project Presented: Year End Installation Banquet and Holiday Party (Initial)

Chair: Melissa Taylor and Tina Gordon

Jeff Gordon moved to accept the CPG with a $3482.50 appropriation.

Jeff Zabawa seconded the motion.

Melissa and Tina will discuss subsidizing tickets to non-Jaycees and family.

Motion to accept the CPG passed.

 

Ways and Means (Jeff Zabawa)

Jeff Zabawa made a motion to install Phil Rau as a Ways and Means Director for the 2004 Board of Directors.

Christine Bauer seconded the motion

Motion carries.

 

Membership (Peter Ansbacher)

Renewing banners for the next 3 months

Community Service  (Amanda Grim)

Michele Nemargut and Sara Hardesty are now working together on Habitat for Humanity.

Pack and Den meetings are ongoing for the Cub Scouts

 

Ways and Means continued (Jeff Zabawa)

Brookhill Burnout is this weekend.

Update on Fire Fighter calendars- all Fire Fighters have already been photographed. Bid for Bachelors will be the kick-off for the calendar.

Turkey Shoot and Haunted House are under way.

Blackout Party will be in November – looking for suggestions for a location and a chair

PONY softball – looking into possibly hosting the tournament next year.

 

Community Fundraising (Karen Schellhorn)

The Board Retreat will be at Adventure Landing off Capital Boulevard.

Management is looking into other Highwoods spaces for the Jaycee office.

 

State Director (Beth Connell)

Next month is the end of the trimester.

Regional mtg – Friday the 13th in Apex, cost is $13

CF Telethon – Aug 14th

Duke Cancer Center visit – Aug 28th

Convention is coming along, the entertainment is already booked.

Fall Convention is Sept 24-26th.

 

Treasury (Christine Bauer)

Look for detailed financial review at the board retreat.

 

Legal Counsel (Reed Hollander)

No update

 

Secretary (Susan Lynch)

Susan Lynch made a motion to approve the June Raleigh Jaycee Board meeting minutes.

Dupre Jones seconded the motion.

Motion carries.

 

New Business

Allison Friar made a motion to go into executive session.

Motion carries.

A motion was passed  to pay the filing fee of $250 for Kenn Kubacki to run for President of the NC Jaycees.

Exective Session closed.
