Good afternoon fellow Jaycees,

Have you ever had questions about your finances? Or maybe you’d be interested in hearing from a well-regarded gentleman from the financial world?

Through my job, I have access to several videos featuring Dave Ramsey speaking about the topics below. I will be presenting these videos on six different evenings, with accompanying worksheets and a discussion following. Also, if I get enough interest, I may be providing dinner for a small cost (meaning: RSVP if you’re coming and interested in eating some yummy home-cooked food)!

We’ll be starting our financial education journeys next Thursday at 7 pm, at the Jaycee office. We’ll be kicking off with the ‘Introduction’ and ‘Saving’ videos. Here’s the breakdown of the whole series; I plan for each evening to take an hour to an hour and a half, depending on the topics:

Introduction (20 mins) & Saving (43 mins; 7 pm, Thursday, 5/23)
Welcome to Financial Well-being
The baby steps
Getting started
Saving for the future

Budgeting (60 mins; Date: Monday July 1)

Relating with money
Building a budget

Debt (96 mins; Date: Thursday July 18)
Breaking the chains of debt
The truth about debt
Dumping debt

Investing (78 mins; Date: TBD)
The pinnacle point
Investing basics
Retirement plans
Keep it simple

Planning (45 mins; Date: TBD)

Insurance basics
Life insurance

Legacy (35 mins; Date: TBD)
Retire with dignity
Exit video: You did it!!!

Come to all, or as many as you’d like. The more seminars you attend, the greater your chances of winning a copy of one of Dave Ramsey’s books, The Total Money Makeover, at the conclusion of the session! (If you can’t make it to one of the sessions and want to watch the associated video, let me know and I can send you a digital copy.)

In summary, I hope you’re interested, and please RSVP if you plan to come to next Thursday’s program (and let me know if you’d like me to bring you food for a $3 or $4 cost)!
