Common questions
- Do I need to bring sheets/towels? No, these are provided at the houses.
- Do I need to bring food? See above (under cost),_some_ food is provided, but you
will want to bring snack food and beverages. Note that there is a
grocery store ~3 miles (over twisty roads) from the houses. All houses
come with a working kitchen, plates, silverware, etc, although the amt
of cooking tools/pans will vary from sparse to moderate.
- When can I arrive? Still checking this info, but at worst case if you
arrive as early as noon on Friday, we should have at least one of the
houses where you could ditch your stuff, go out and do something and
then go to your actual house when you get back.
- When is checkout? Sunday at 10AM.
- Can I go up Thurs night? Hold off on this for a bit and let me catch my
breath, but the answer is yes. You will have to pay extra for this, and
will almost certainly not be staying in the same house as over the
weekend.
- What's the weather like? The past 2 years its been clear blue skies and
daily highs in the low 60's or upper 50's. In short its been beautiful.
Certainly that's no guarantee (knock wood).
- Will there be a "h@ll-hike"? Yeah, probably :-) Plenty of easy
hikes as well.
- When will we know who we'll be rooming with? After the 10/16 meeting I
will have a final count of who is coming, and I'll then need a few days
to finish up the reservations. After that is done, I'll email out a list
to everyone that is coming (say by 10/22) asking for rooming requests,
and we can go from there. If you can, try to make group requests no
larger than 4 people, if 2 groups of 4 then want to request to be
together (essentially filling up a house) go head, but
understand I may need to juggle to help even things out so that we don't
have an odd male/female ending up needing to split a bed :-)
This list should also help people begin to plan when they want to depart
and any carpooling plans.
