Swimming:
You might want to consider
as a birthday or Christmas present signing up your child for swimming
lessons through Raleigh Parks and Recreation. They have lessons at
Pullen Park each month. (Call 831-6197 for information.)
I signed my child up for 2 months of lessons, she loved going and is now
a very good swimmer. All of Raleigh's public swim facilities:

Trips to the park.
Go on nature scavenger hunts, picnic, walks. A great site is located at

Call Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department for a schedule of events.

Library
Go to the library to read books or check out a book to read at the park.
Make flash cards of the words your child had a difficult time with and have them practice the flash cards regularly and continue to add new cards. A good time to practice is when you're driving somewhere.
