Community Fundraising (Linnell)
- Bowl-A-Thon is this
Saturday, September 26; we have about 70 bowlers and would like at least 20
more
- Famil Fun Day at Adventure Landing had about 30 adults and
20 kids; great turn out of older Jaycees; raised ~$1,025 for AFTD
- Boyce Tree Farm Sales
will have a CPG for the October board meeting
- Staying Ins –
Jennifer James hosted a yummy evet earlier this
month; November’s will be a game night at Clay Berry’s house; December’s will
be Mel’s annual Naughty and Nice party
- Goodfellows – next committee meeting is scheduled for
10/12; still some open committee roles; Karen Ray and Pat Sauter are selling
the CitiPass books to raise money for GF
Community Service (Danny
Miller)
- HOBY East CPG is
being worked on and they are expecting 120 students
- HOBY West (Ed
reporting for Renee) – They selected Salem College for 6/4 – 6/6/10 (the
weekend before HOBY East); Packets have gone out to schools and letters to
guidance counselors; goal is to have 70 students and to reach out to new
schools to bring to the new location; they held a committee conference call
regarding fundraising, grants, corporate and alumni giving, and gifts in-kind;
they have drafted a letter of intent for Carter’s and Michael’s review; at
mid-year convention Renee met with Ed, Charles, Mel, Carter and Deidre
regarding the handling of the deposits and checks for HOBY West; Renee and
Charles held an interest meeting and only a few Raleigh Jaycees attended; the
initial CPG will be ready for October’s board meeting

Not present. Carter asked him to send an email report to the
board.

Melissa Taylor made a motion to approve the CIF Board Minutes
from August. Deidre Albert seconded the motion. Motion passed.
