The Raleigh Jaycees CIF Board Meeting Minutes 9-23-08
Attendance: Ed Blackman, Amanda Carleski, Jamilyn Cole, Cliff Hamilton, Paul Hoover, Alison Houchin, Michael McKnight, Karen Ray, John Sauter, Pat Sauter, Gwen Schott, Mona Shah, Heather Snyder, Khaner Walker, Beth Worsley, Jeff Zabawa
Call to Order – Paul Hoover Pledge of Allegiance
Presentation of Initial/Final CPGs:
Project: Miracle League Final CPG by Lisa Rowland; Pat Sauter motioned to approve the CPG as written with no return appropriation. Motion seconded by John Sauter. Discussion: Thanks for running the project; a lot of Jaycees enjoy the project, real entertaining watching Paul chase his buddy; do already have some info for next year; motion passed.
Project: Cub Scouts Initial CPG by Amanda Carleski; Cliff Hamilton motioned to approve the CPG as written with a $3,915 appropriation. John Sauter seconded the motion. Discussion: think this is an important part of the Chapter, thanks for stepping up to run this; we added HOPE into the project; didn’t want to just stop showing up for these kids, motion passed.
Community Development Area update – Goodfellows – have a lot of fundraising opportunities, Boyce Tree farm, poker tournament, invite only for some members; Burn Congress is going well and coming up; Listed some of the projects that are coming up in the next few weeks
Treasurer Area update – if you have any check requests, please get them to Jeff; did send out budget report last meeting if you have anything you need, please let him know
Secretary Area update – Heather Snyder motioned to approve the meeting minutes, seconded by Jeff Zabawa, motion passed.
New Business –
HOBY Training Institute report – Ed Blackman - didn’t get the report sent out to the board
since he didn’t get all the reports until late last night; did double up on the
trainings; a lot of very valuable ideas; overview of trainings and ideas; Ed, Alicia,
and James that attended got a lot out of the trainings; look forward to seeing
the report
Burn Congress CPG –
Cliff Hamilton motioned to increase the appropriation to $1750 for the Burn
Congress CPG; seconded by Beth Worsley; Discussion: don’t want to be put in the
position of having the project and chapter look bad from the looks at the bad
tables; this is a new hotel and group we are working with; will have to use
$1000 to rent the tables; thought they would have extra money to spend so they
got a DJ and budget got messed up from having to rent the tables; need to provide decorations
and snacks; do have it in the budget; motion passed.
