The Raleigh Jaycees CIF Board Meeting Minutes 11-25-08

Presentation of Initial/Final CPGs:

Project: World Burn Congress Final CPG by project chair Teresa Nichols; John Sauter motioned to approve the CPG as written with a return appropriation of $174.68. Karen Ray seconded the motion. Discussion: did an awesome job, world class event, really proud of you, felt good to be Raleigh Jaycee at this event; this is a well put together CPG, motion passed.

Project: Gala for Hope 2009 Initial CPG by project chair Teresa Nichols; Andy Zeh motioned to approve the CPG as written with an $8,700 appropriation from CIF and pending approval from the Chapter for DSA. Melissa Taylor seconded the motion. Discussion: glad you are running this project; good luck, keep in mind deadlines for DSA; motion passed.

Goodfellows Update – Peter Ansbacher - going well this year; very happy with committee; doing great job; thanks for all your help Cliff, John, Beth; 92 chaperones; 42 Jaycees; 12 former; 4 celebrity chaperones; State VP – Valerie; friends and co-workers; will be able to use back-ups; trying to get as many as possible; currently trying to get hurricanes players – will hope to have them at the event if not as chaperones; did get some items to use in auction; have 73 kids so far; hope we will get the 90 kids; Oddfellows will be van drivers; big success with poker tournament; still have some more fundraising events to come; smashing party this weekend; will have interview on News 14;

Community Development Area Update – Cliff Hamilton – know what is going on with Goodfellows; may have some other projects come up in CD area.

Treasurer Area Update – Jeff Zabawa – will not be at the GMM on Tuesday – if you need check requests then get them early; will be working with replacement to get things turned over; will be renewing HOBY and Goodfellows CDs.

Legal Counsel Area Update – no report

Secretary Area Update – Heather Snyder – Heather motioned to approve the minutes from September to the Joint board meeting minutes in November. Stacy Hanna seconded the motion; no discussion; motion passed.
