Gigi asked if the $525 in the budget was a set fee for the speaker at the training. Devon explained that it is
$30 per Jaycee and $35 per non-Jaycee to attend, and that the $525 was based on 15 attendees but that it will fluctuate depending on the number of attendees.

Chip Bright asked why there is no expected return of appropriation. Jeff Zabawa explained the Jaycees will help defray the cost of the t-shirts for members. Chris Bright points out that the t-shirts are not required for the league. Dupre explains that Leah Breckstein would like to offer the t-shirts to members and to supplement the costs.

Dupre Jones wants a sharing of the information conveyed at achieve with the Board in some way; if not at the Mid-Year Board Retreat since this was a chapter management training. Sharon says that can take place through the CPG.

Membership (Christine Bauer)
-We are 6 down for April, down 21 for the year, close to 10% of membership for the year.
-Business Expo went very well as a joint venture between Membership and BH. 20+ people signed up for more information on the Raleigh Jaycees.
-14 up for renewal in May, hopefully a catch up month.
-Emphasized the need for a copy of sign in sheets or a list of attendees for projects so the progression sheet can be maintained and updated.
-Discussion on e-mailing guests who attend projects.
Community (Melissa Taylor)
Looking for a chair for the second trimester Blood Drive.
Ways and Means (Phillip Rau)
-Pig Pickin' went well.
-One more work day before BH, plenty of work left to do. People will be out the week before BH.
-Sales are going well. Still need help with Railspace sales.
-Brian Cox's wife Laura gave birth to a little girl.
-Chic-fil-a Durham Bulls games: the 27th won't happen, but 7/4 is still in place.
-Chip Bright talked to Davi's, Davi's purchased the guns and stores them for the Turkey Shoot, so the mini Turkey Shoots are on.
-Chip Bright is working on ATVs for BH.
Individual Development (Dupre Jones)
-Discussion on Sand Volleyball and adding a provision to Leah Breckstein's initial CPG.
Jennifer Jerzak motioned that we reconsider the vote on the Initial Sand Volleyball CPG.
Ed Blackman seconded the motion.
The motion passed.
Jennifer Jerzak motioned to amend the Sand Volleyball CPG to include the following provision: The project chair shall have the discretion whether and to what extent to permit non-member participation in this project.
Ed Blackman seconded the motion.
Jennifer Jerzak said this motion will give the project chair discretion to handle member and non-member participation.
Chip Bright said he is worried about setting precedent to give project chairs this type of discretion.
Chris Compton said getting non-members to pay dues just to be able to play Sand Volleyball has a good chance of hurting us in the next year in Membership.
Dupre Jones said a lot of these former Jaycees have moved on from the Jaycees.
Ed Blackman said that the motion just supports what the policies state.
Jennifer Jerzak clarified the motion.
Chip Bright called the question.

- Book Club is going great.
- Film Club moved to 5/19.
- The second cooking class will be held in June.
- Will look for project chairs for some good professional trainings in the second trimester, and a possible baseball related project.
- Globetrotters is going well.
Management Area Update (Kimberly Bagley)
-Camping Trip and Beach Trip are upcoming.
-Keep the Doorbell in the office.
-Will need a different solution for Internet access at the Jaycee Office after June.

-Budget through March. Send any changes to Sara.
Legal Counsel (Jennifer Jerzak)
-Business policy and Tapco policy for Insurance coverage, should proof of insurance be needed, it is available in the office.
-If a new event needs insurance, tell Jennifer Jerzak.
-Copies of the new policies once they come out will be sent to Board members to have available for Project Chairs as needed.
Publicity Director (Gigi Evans)
- Working with Greg Stillwell with the Meet your Congressman project.
- Working to get a moderator from WRAL for this project.
Secretary
Approval of Minutes - Motion to approve the minutes for February made by Ed Blackman in for
Michelle Thompson. Phillip Rau seconded the motion. Motion carries.
New Business
-Steve Eller, Mgmt VP of the NC jaycees, is looking for an outside sponsor for the clipping service so no donation is being requested from the chapter.
-Interested in any feedback about the GMMs.
-Looking to encourage discussion on possibly changing location for the after meeting socials.
-Possibility of Board t-shirts, Chip Bright asked for a show of hands by those interested in either a golf shirt or a button down t-shirt.
