2007 will mark 75 years of Service to Raleigh by the Raleigh Jaycees. Formed in 1932, the Raleigh Jaycees provided opportunities for young men to develop personal and leadership skills through service to others. We later expanded to include women, reflecting the growing influence and leadership of women in America.
For the past 75 years, the Raleigh Jaycees have been an influential part of the Raleigh and NC community! We have built parks, playgrounds, funded the initial feasibility study for the NC state zoo, supported the NC Jaycee Burn Center at UNC, the NC Jaycee Outpatient Treatment Facility at the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center, run the HOBY-NC leadership seminar for high school youth, provided thousands of Raleigh youth with a Christmas they would never forget through our Goodfellows project, and countless other projects that have touched the lives of the Raleigh community! With our current projects we provide thousands of hours of volunteer service every year, and raise over $65,000 annually that goes back into the Raleigh community.
On this site you will find updates and information on our 75th Anniversary celebration and activities taking place throughout 2007. We will be updating this site periodically with event information and bits and pieces of our history as they become available.
If you are a past member of the Raleigh Jaycees or are interested in attending the 75th Anniversary celebration, please email us. We will be sure to contact you with information.
